One of the true wonders of local, public libraries is they usually have special programs to feature and promote local authors. This is the case at the Edmonton Public Library, which was votes the best library system in North America in 2014.
The EPL has several programs to promote local writers including their Writers in Residence and Featured Local Writers, where local authors are given time and space to share their knowledge of writing as well as some welcome exposure.
My turn in this wheel house happened from Feb to April of this year. I got to join in a list of notable and considerably more successful writers in the program. For my part, I did two talks for some aspiring writers, called Write What You Don't Know and Go Publish Yourself.
Here is a link to my small part in this very important program.
Please support your local library and take advantage of all of its services. You'll be amazed at how much you can learn.
